Never Grow Up

In case you are one of my friends that hasn't already seen this...but if you haven't, chance are you don't read my blog anyway... Anyway, just thought I would post up this video of some events that occured after a great bachelor party at the water park.

Hope you likes it.

I thought I would stick up a video I found that I made some time ago. I am on a study break so I needed a distraction. Check it out...not that bad but still looked cool...

Thats all for now.

one more logo...

I have one more logo idea. I guess I am putting them up here for critisism or praise or just to entertain myself. I think this would look sweet on a black t-shirt.

James Boldt...I made this for you...best I can do for now with the MASH theme.

Wow...I actually failed...

So, as of late, I have been learning much about my self. Mostly about how unaware I am of who I really am. This tends to suck once in a while when you think you are fine then you realize that you are kind of failing and need to change. Part of this was brought to a head today as I failed an exam in school. I got 78%. Not terrible, but not the 80% needed to pass, and not the 90% plus needed to really succeed. What I have been hearing since grade school is, "Kurt does not work up to his full potential." This said usually with some frustration. Well, I think I am back in that mode and now I need to figure out how to change it. I know that I can't give up on the whole air traffic thing as I have so many other things. I used to think I would rather quit than fail. I just realized recently that I used to think that. I think some of that mindset still exists but I need to work at changing that. I intend to change that. I will not fail at this. I used to think I could be confident with answers even if I didn't know if they were right for sure but I am realizing I pull back if I don't know. Now I intend to know the answers and if I don't, everyone will think I do. If I am going to fail, I need to fail knowing I am giving it my all and to this point I honestly don't think I have. I guess I could make a bunch of excuses but my only real reason seems to be a lack of self motivation. I guess you could even call it being lazy. That is not a good place for a 26 year old to be. I don't want to be lazy, I don't want to be a slacker. So, I think I am writing all this so I have something to look at to remind me of my goal of success. I am commiting here and now to get through this. With the love and prayers of the people close to me (especially one...you know who you are...) and maybe the odd hug and some kisses. Either way, I will make it. I guess this has been a little random. I have been inspired by my friend (I call him that but we never hang out cause I suck) Brian to get more of my thoughts out on here. I guess by doing this anyone who reads it can kind of keep me in check. I know, I used to think the whole blog thing was lame, and I kinda still do but I am going to do whatever it takes to have an ATC license and I think getting my thoughts out may be part of the process. Thanks for listening...or reading...or getting bored and skipping to the end of my randomness.

P.S. I love you Kendra. Just thought I would get that in there.

Should be studying,,,

It is amazing what you can accomplish when you should be studying. I am a class 1 procrastinator. Don't get me wrong, I will get a couple hours in tonight but getting there is sometimes so tough. I guess the fact of the matter is I may never learn complete discipline when it comes to this sort of stuff. It is reflected in the cleanliness of my room, car, etc. Either way, I hope I will figure it out before I get married or the special one may kill me. I think I can get it together. Anyway, I am working on designs for a new PLAN-A t-shirt. Let me know what you think. (That is if anyone ever reads this...) Anyway, here we go. Two of these are mine, one is robs. If you have any ideas, feel free to send them my way.

This one is Robs...

I kinda changed robs and called it mine so I guess both could be Robs technically...

Well, thats all I have for now. I may have Pins and t-shirts for sale soon. Tell your friends...

Tuesday, July 11, 2006

Well, as you can tell my ADD kicked in again and I quickly lost interest in the Van plan. Oh well, on to bigger and better things. Well, ok...maybe not but its a good thought. I am currently up to my ears in ATC training so that is life for now. I just thought I would share this video with you for the time being...

Blew my mind...almost made me cry even. Thats all for now.

What's in the Van Day 2 (Morning)

Well, day 2 of my quest turned out to be quite the adventure so far. I guess I will break the news early this time...I didn't win....Again. Does this mean that I will quit? Does this mean that I will throw in the towel? No sir, not this cat. I mean c'mon, what else am I gonna do this week that is this productive. I am gonna post my pics from the contest today so I can get to the good and entertaining stuff that happened.
I guess will start with the not winning ticket...again.

Then on to the van...pretty location today...

Now. the winner today picked the envelope and not the van...and good thing cause there was a puzzle in the van...I think I would want to keep the rabbit though.
And what did the lucky fellow (obviously NOT me) win? $850 COLD HARD CASH...
Making him quite the happy fellow. (Again, notice how this isn't me!)

Ok, now before I realized that my winning was not happening this morning, even before I got through my lovely Timmys coffee, the event of the day so far happened right in front of me. I was just standing there on the corner of 104st and 109 ave when this '86 or so Dodge Caravan slams into the back of a REALLY nice Jag. Heck of a crash let me tell you. Well, everyone involved seemed fine with the exception of the van and the Jag. Here's my pics of the events that shaped my morning...

Notice that the rear end of the Jag has a nice downward angle now...

Notice the high class plastic and duct tape rear window the van was already showing off before the accident even happened...maybe this lady should stick with the bus.
Edmonton's Finest doing their thing

Well, there you have it. Another day, another not win by me. The van will be at Rexall tonight and so will I. More good things to come.

What's in the Van Man? Week

Hey all, I know no one reads this but I am adding useless info about my life for the first time in just about forever. For those of you that know what I have been up to lately, you know that I am about to start school (again). I am going to be an air traffic controler or at least going to try. Anyway, I find myself with a whole week with nothing to do but study. So I have decided to try and get on to Sonic 102.9's travelling game show...What's in the Van, Man? http://www.radiosonic.fm/contests/index.php?entry=entry060519-112246 Go there if you wanna know about it. So anyway, you get your name in a draw. If you get picked, then you get to pick an envelope of some unknown amount of money or "whats in the van".

So here is a pic of my winning ticket.

Ok, truth is, this ticket did nothing for me today. But I will keep on trying. But the good thing is I have all week and they do this twice a day. Today the girl that won picked what was in the van. Thats good because the envelope has $5.00 in it and the van had a new 30Gig iPod. That could have been mine. Not today. Maybe tomorrow. I guess its still cool cause I scored the obigatory "free radio station promotional stuff...

Other than that here is a couple pics of NOT ME winning...

That's my iPod on that chair and by me I mean the lady in pink in the bottom corner...so...not me at all.

Ohhh...one redeeming thing about the day was this kid. Some parents need to feel cool so they use their kids...
Well, until next time...

P.L.A.N. - A. IS FREEDOM or at least a t-shirt

Well, being as I just got done typing one thing on here, I figured it could use another. I finally have PLAN-A t-shirts done and for sale. $15 plus shipping (like 3 bucks) unless I know where you live and see you frequently then shipping doesn't count. Anyway, I don't think people read this thing at all so this may be lost advertising but its free so who really cares? The t-shirts are RADASTUPENDOMUNDICALLY AWSOME. I totally made that word up...I would have used ASS-U-RADICAL but its not mine so I won't. Army green...Red PLAN-A across the front. You get the idea. Leave a comment on here if you want one or even if you have been here. I need the reassurance that people love me...

Alas, I have moved again

Ok, so...it has been a long time since I bothered to entertain the 1 or 1.5 people who actually look at this stupid thing on occasion. Well, I am in a good mood today...or a lazy one. I could be folding laundry but I am writing on here instead. I have moved AGAIN. I came to find out if life really does end in Drayton Valley. I hope not but that is still yet to be determined. Am I to old to be moving home and living with my folks again? Yes, there is no other way to answer that without a lot of painful justification on my part. That being, "But, I need to make money for school, and I can make a lot in Drayton and I can live for free and I need to make money for school...did I mention I am going to school and not just a lazy welf?" Ok, so that may be a little extreme but what can I say, that is my excuse. Anyway, I intend to spend the next 5 months killing trees and causing general mayhem in the forest with my new toy that I am getting paid nicely to run. I have even started to see positives in being here...that being that I don't want to be here for more than just work and sleep so driving into edmonton to see the most freakin amazing girl in the world is very much justified. Did I mention that I had a most freakin amazing girl in the world? Cause I do. Just for the record. This is a fairly new thing for me...well new as far as the last few years go...I have no complaints about the single life but this is just slightly (and by that I mean A LOT) better. It helps that she is smart and pretty and doesn't let me get away with crap. Anywho, I am happy and that is all you all need to know. I don't even know who you all are...weird....gotta love this "world wide web" they keep telling me about...some say you can throw mostly personal thoughts up on places that anyone in the world can read. Sounds crazy but I think it is possible...I mean did you know they had phones WITHOUT cords? Seriously...technology...WOW. Ok, enough...

Not a lot to say...as always

Well, it has been quite some time since I decided that the word blog was LAME but I kind of appreciated the concept. Anyway, I thought I would write something great and inspiring for the masses. Ok, so that is obviously not going to happen. My mind is fried. I am 3 days away from finishing the longest run of work I have done in a long time. 600 hours in approx. 45 days. I will let you do the math. It was insane. As much as I love fertilizer, I am done with it. Soon I will be entering a whole new dimension of life (again). I decided to get into air traffic control. I may have already mentioned that at some point. I quit my telecom crap job and started the long, arduous process of trying to get accepted into Nav Canada's training program to become an IFR controller. (means Instrument Flight Rules) Now, I don't know a lot about this profession but I do know that it is supposed to be somewhat stressful. I can always use alittle more stress. I will be amazed at myself if I even make it through. I know that I am smart enough, and my mom thinks I am good looking. So add that up and I am in. I have just decided that I have written enough for the eveing. I have another summer of camp ministry ahead of me. Much kids, much food, and much good times.www.livingsprings.ca if anyone is interested. Peace

Freakin Forwards

So why is it that people are so willing to belive the useless rumors that come to them via email? They treat these little snippets of information as fact and it drives me nuts. All it takes is about 30 seconds with Google and you can find out if things are valid or not. It is not that hard...but you know, I heard it on the internet so it must be true. Did you hear the George W and Bin Laden are brothers...Anyway, I don't have a lot to say about this other than, think for yourselves and think critically. If you don't, at least one person out there may have a lesser opinion of what you say and think...ME. Beyond that, I don't give much of a rats...

Moving was created by women

Well, being as I am sitting here typing on this stupid machine, it must mean that I have yet to pack a bloody thing. Yes, I have so far failed in my quest to relocate to New Nowhere. You would think that after years of perfecting the art of procrastination, I would have gotten disillusioned and given up...not the case however. I am still a pro. I can put off things I love let alone things I hate with much passion. That being packing. Anyone want some stuff? I sure don't. So now I am sitting here with another full week staring me in the face allowing my limited time to pack. And am I using the limited time I have efficiently? I should think not. I am listening to NoFx and playing with my computer. I packed my CD's...maybe I should pack this comupter and leave it at the new place. Then I would have some motivation to move there. Yes, that is a splendid idea. Well, that settles it. I won't have the option to waste all this time if this isn't here. Then again, I still have my guitar and best of all, my bed. I guess I could leave all that there to. And maybe my stereo and all my clothes and my dresser and couches and chairs and dishes and clothes and desk...hmm...if I left all that there then I would be way ahead of the game, infact I would be all moved. Now that would motivate me. Did I mention I hate moving?

Too late...but great

Well...it's like 1:00 in the morning and I finally got this new computer rollin. I am exhausted and excited. Now things will vastly improve in the life of the Dirtmeister. I don't have anything else to say. I am going to bed and then to the wretched job that funded this whole project. Take what I can get...

One small step for the revolution

Ya, so, I ordered my new computer today. I am really excited...even for me. I have nothing profound or inspirational to share, just that after 6 or so long years of waiting, I will finally have a computer of my own. It never really made sense to me. After all I am more geek than the average and a lot more than the majority of my friends...so why wouldn't I have my own computer...they all have them. Either way, I will have one soon. Then I will begin the slow process of setting up my little recording studio/video editing room. It will be great and much love will be the result. Thankfully I have a boss who will let me put the whole thing on my account at work. Wow, thats it...As of hopefully Monday, I will be fully operational...64bits of Athalon fun...Wonder when all those new apps are actually gonna come out and make the machine worth while? Anyway, that is all...I shall now spend the rest of my evening attemtping to reach REM sleep and probably failing. One of the sales guys at work is sure that is my problem...appartently that is important. Sleep apnia? Maybe...maybe I just like to get excercise at night. This is going no where. I will emerge from my geek shell soon enough and be typing this staring at dual 19" flat screens. And I know about trucks. Hmmm...a redneck geek...how rad is that.

Moving on..and cleaning up to get there

Am I a slob? I have had that question posed to me by potential roomates, girlfriends, and girlfriends parents. If you were to ask my mother, she would answer quickly with a definate yes. No question in her mind that this boy that she raised couldn't keep the inside of a sensory deprivation chamber clean for more than half an hour. Granted I may drop my pants on the floor but c'mon...is that really a mess? So now as I look around my house that I am contemplating cleaning, the nest I have created for myself looks a little less than a mothers idea of tidy. Sure I have plenty of excuses, but who am I making them to? You? You don't really care. So I am left to try to explain away the mess to me. I promise that I care MUCH less than you. Now that I've given it some serious thought and have come to these conclusions, I decide that I like my mess and until I have to keep it clean to appease someone who loves me like my mother, it will remain a mess. But man would it be nice to be able to pack up a clean house. I guess I can just chuck all this junk in boxes and empty them on the floor at the new place. I mean. c'mon, do people really take the time to pack up all this crap just to unpack it and spread it around. Maybe I need to just get rid of it all. Anyone need a couch?

More...not new

I found this on my computer and figured I may as well share it with whoever is going to look at this crap. This is kindof like reality tv for geeks...

Why is it that female type humans always feel the need to either be in a relationship or be responsible for one happening. It's not that I am against a couple of friends introducing friends, but when the need to have the credit and the glory if something works out is completely unneccessary. Take my life for example. Girl A and Girl B are very good friends with Girl C. I happen to like Girl C quite a bit. Now I have not informed A or B of this fact but the truth exists that they are women and can quite possibly sense this sort of thing. So in my perfect world I would pursue C based on my decsions and abilitys and would hopefully convince...er...persuade her into wanting to spend some quality time with me. That is not, however, the world that I live in. A and B, not consulting me, have decided to set me and C up. This hasn't happened yet but that is beside the point. So now C has to deal with the pressure of her friends making my efforts void and giving them the credit. This girl thing isn't easy and if one of us males makes it work, we deserve something for it don't you think? Like at least the satisfaction of knowing that it is not only our mom's that think we have something special. But if A and B are involved, the credit goes to them. "Ya, we set them up...what a cute couple. Aren't we so COOL." So I have decided to take a less than tactful approach and ask the afformetioned letters to not encroach on my hunting grounds...not to sound like this is sport..but inkeeping with this illustration, if I am going to go hunting, I don't need some lonley guide to call the game in for me. Anyway, I have spouted off enough and rambled even more. I am going to retire now and we will see what transpires in the future. All I know is that if C goes for it, the first thing I am going to have to do is confirm that is was not due to any involvement of A or B. Why the crap did I pick letters anyway?

Of Gypsies and Kings

It would seem to me that the biggest thing I have learned about myself in my life is that I am a nomad. I don't know if this was me in a past life or if somewhere in my heritage, my family couldn't sit still for to long. Either way, it is my fate. I have been residing in the same place for over a year now and it is way past time for change. So I am moving...to New Nowhere. Now that is a step in the right direction. Ok, maybe not the right direction but a step none the less. This may be enough of a change to quell my gypsy spirit for another short while. The same job for 5 months? Holy crap...you would think that would make me happy but I have also learned that my brain doens't work the way the rest of the world thinks. I feel like I am wasting my time. Well not wasting it but not being as productive with it as I could be. Selfish ambition maybe, I don't know, but isn't it just as selfish to sit and rot at one job, in one place for no other reason than monitary gain? Now I am finsihing this much later in the week and after a good discusion with Matty (more me talking than us discussing, I will admit). I think I am at this job to try and teach myself somthing about responsibility. I have kind of commited myself to it until I pay off the loans that got me the education to get me it...I won't quit until I break even...We'll see how that goes. Anyway, I have used my brain up for the day. Peas

Well Holy Crap....

Who would have ever thought that I would post a blog on the "internet" let alone ever use the word "blog" without kicking my own butt...how times have changed. I don't have anything thought provoking, witty, or even the slightest bit clever to post on here so I won't. I guess now that I am a "webmaster" for www.livingsprings.ca and also the director of public relations for the camp that said website is focused on, I should learn something about computers and the like. If the website sucks tell me..and I will try to do something about it. I will soon have a new computer and it will rock like lazers and fire. Then I will do some heavy computing and show this "interent" whos the big mamma...(that's me for sure). Now I will just sit patiently and wait for my computer to crash...can't expect 30+ minutes without at least one blue screen 'o' death...

that is all. I will get to some profound P.L.A.N.-A. inspired, revolutionary rants later.

Peas
